Skip Hire Delivery

  • Skip deliveries will be conducted between 7 am and 7 pm, unless a specific time slot has been confirmed in advance.
  • On the day of delivery, you will receive a notification specifying a 2-hour window for the delivery.
  • Your presence is not required during delivery. However, if you have specific instructions regarding access or the positioning of the Skip, kindly inform us at the point of ordering.
  • In the event that we are unable to carry out the Skip delivery due to reasons beyond our control upon our arrival, wasted journey charges may apply.
  • The Skip delivery vehicle requires a clearance of 9.5 feet to fulfill the delivery.
  • If dropping the Skip within the grounds of your property is not feasible, a Skip permit, lighting, and signage will be necessary. We will handle these arrangements. Inform us if the Skip is to be situated on public land, and we will take care of the rest.
  • During Winter months, deliveries may occur after sunset. It is your responsibility to notify us if there is insufficient lighting for a safe delivery; otherwise, wasted journey charges may apply.
  • Disposal of prohibited items in your Skip that fall outside the applicable materials listed may result in additional charges or the Skip not being collected until the associated wasted journey charges are paid.
  • All skips must be level loaded, with inert skips limited to 3/4 full.
  • A £15 cancellation charge applies for skips cancelled within 48 hours of delivery.

Thank you for choosing NRC for your Skip needs.

When do you need a Skip Permit?

If the skip is to be placed on private land you own, such as a driveway or yard, no skip permit is required. However, if the placement is in a public area or on land not owned by you, such as a road, pavement, verge, highways land, or public parking space, a skip permit is necessary. NRC can handle the permit process for you, excluding delivery on grass verges, kerbs, or pathways.

Permit Penalties

Placing a skip on public land without a permit may result in removal without notice and fines of up to £1000. We will guide you through the skip permit process during the order placement to alleviate any concerns.

Skip Hire Permit Safety Measures

Upon delivery, NRC ensures safety measures for the skip, including visibility aids such as lights and chevrons for road users. It is crucial not to reposition or tamper with these safety features, as you may be liable for fines issued by the council.

Applying for a Skip Permit

NRC can arrange your skip permit during the skip hire order process. Questions about the skip's placement will be asked, and the rest will be taken care of. Skip permits are granted by local councils, each with different criteria and processing times. Consider these factors to prevent delays in your skip hire.

Permit Guidelines

When obtaining your skip permit through NRC, adhere to the following guidelines for a smooth process:

  • The skip cannot be placed on a double or single yellow line.
  • Keep away from junctions and bus stops.
  • The skip must be in front of the given property.
  • Only one skip is allowed on the road; if another is present, delivery is not possible.
  • Permit charges are non-refundable, even if refused by the council.
  • Specify the permit start and end dates when ordering.

Skip Permit Costs

Skip permit costs depend on location and duration, determined by local councils. Prices are non-negotiable. Closer proximity to a city may result in higher permit costs. Standard skip permits last for 7 days, with the possibility of extensions at an additional cost for longer periods on public land.
