NRC Commits To The Living Wage

The National Resource Consortium announced this month that the organisation has accredited as a Living Wage Employer. The firm’s Living Wage commitment will see everyone working at NRC receive a minimum hourly wage of £9.00 in the UK, a rate significantly higher than the government minimum for over 25s, which currently stands at £7.83 per hour. The real Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to the costs of living. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum.

Since 2011, the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to over 150,000 people. NRC Director, Paul Jackson, explains: “As in every company, our people are the lifeblood of our organisation. Our employees deserve appropriate remuneration for their work and commitment to ensure that they are able to come to work prepared and motivated. We believe that the Living Wage is the right thing to do by our team members and hope that it will contribute to our positive ethos as well as our reputation as a growing, sustainable business.”
